Can I Use a Parking Bay?

by mark christie

Hi enjoyed your story, i have a question for you, i have found a pitch in a busy area of students, however the only parking in the area is a pay and display parking bay.

Can i use this if nobody else is parked of a night time.

I do not mind paying for the parking, when i asked the local council no license was required for mobile units.

Hi Mark, if your asking if your can use the parking bays during the night time then I see no reason why you can’t. You may want to check with the highways agency or who ever controls the parking in your area (council). But from what I know you can park for free after 6pm on most meters.

If your question is about using a parking bay during the day and putting money in the meter then this may be a problem for you. Other people will complain that you are taking up valuable parking space and will object. (Health and safety will give you a hard time)

I personally set up in the evening and catered for night clubs and no one seemed to bother me, but it was on the night clubs private car park.

I really commend you for using your initiative in finding a pitch, they are out there- you just need to persist and find them.

Best of luck

David
