Help! - Mobile Catering Questions

Hi

Just found your website and its been very usefull. I live in North of Scotland and am thinking of buying a catering van i would like to sell fish and chips and burgers etc.

My mother owns a petrol station which i could site the van on, will i need planning permission to site the van? It seems to be a bit of a minefield and I'm not really sure where to start, help!

Planning Permission For Your Mobile Catering Business

Hi Kirsty,

You should not need any planning permission if your pitch is on private land.However you should contact your local council?s environmental health team and make them aware of your proposal.

At the very least they will register your food business, visit your catering trailer, and offer you some guidance on the legal requirements. Bear in mind that each council operates differently ? and as you are situated in bonnie Scotland this may vary slightly.
