Start Your OwnTuition Business - My Personal Experience

I am Antony Joseph, employed in a government company. My family consists of my wife and my daughter (10) and son (8). I was having a decent income from my job but was still facing financial stringency due to the repayment of loans taken for purchasing a flat.
My wife could not work because she was busy looking after the affairs of the children. It was then that one of my friends asked me whether I could take tuitions for his children in the evenings as I had earlier been a tuition teacher before joining government service.
This suggestion struck me and I started taking classes for his two children along with my children who in the same classes. The only investment was purchase of some furniture as I had to spruce up the childrens’ room into a study centre to accommodate more children. I had always yearned to become a teacher but could not make it and I found this new opportunity to exploit my teaching skills and at the same get a good wage.
I sought advice from my mother itself who is a retired teacher and got valuable tips towards winning the hearts of children and knowing the psychological aspects of teaching. It was very interesting and refreshing for me after a day’s work to be with children and give them education which is considered a divine job in our country.
I also browsed the net for teaching aid websites and learned the nuances of teaching from experts in the field. The hardest part was keeping abreast of the latest curriculum but I got good help from my wife’s friend who was a serving teacher and spent my leisure time referring books from the public library.
Gradually more children joined and now I am a very busy teacher. I am now highly respected in the society than before and my financial condition has also improved. My children who were very hesitant to learn have now developed interest in studies due to the competitive attitude to outdo their friends. All these developments have also instilled positive energy into me and I have never been so confident in my life.
